Fairbanks Assisted Living is Hiring for Direct Support Professionals

Fairbanks Assisted Living is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to our residents.

Position: Direct Support Professional
Location: Fairbanks, Alaska
Hourly Rate: $17 - $20 per hour

Job Type: Independent Contractor (with potential for permanent employment after 90 days)

Part Time (20 hours a week) and Full Time (40 hours a week) Available

Qualifications:
Adequate knowledge and experience in caregiving or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassion and patience for working with individuals with disabilities.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance - Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, (Based on Support Plan) while promoting their dignity and independence.
Medication Management - Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document administration accurately.
Supportive Services - Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to residents, fostering positive social interactions and relationships.
Assistance with Daily Activities - Assist residents in participating in recreational activities, meal preparation, household chores, and community outings.
Transportation Assistance - Assist with transportation needs, such as transporting individuals to and from the day habilitation program, community activities, and doctor appointments, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.
Cleanliness and Organization - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assisted living facility, including resident living spaces, common areas, and equipment, to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.
ISP and TLOG Documentation - Complete Individual Support Plan (ISP) and (TLOG) documentation for each resident and program assisted daily, ensuring accurate and timely recording of care provided and resident progress in alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Behavioral Support - Implement behavior management strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior reinforcement.
Collaboration - Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support for residents.
Safety and Compliance - Adhere to all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure the well-being and security of residents and staff.
Continuous Learning - Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with IDD.
