Air Forwarding Controller (JB4531)

Our client, a global leader in freight forwarding, specializing in air and sea logistic solutions is looking for an Air Forwarding Controller to oversee the entire process of cargo flow from order placement to shipment collection. This includes managing complex client forwarding requirements, ensuring compliance with business procedures, and maintaining effective communication with clients and network agents.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years as a Forwarding Controller, extensive experience in all aspects of international forwarding, particularly airfreight and In-depth knowledge of import documentation, process flows, and incoterms.

Minimum Requirements:
Matric/Grade 12 Certificate.
Tertiary education would be an advantage.
Any shipping-accredited unit standard advantageous.
3-5 years as a Forwarding Controller or a similar position.
Extensive experience in all aspects of international forwarding, particularly airfreight.
Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office and Cargo Wise.
Understanding of Profit Share/Split Agreements on freight differentials.
In-depth knowledge of import documentation, process flows, and incoterms.
Highly developed geographic knowledge and understanding of the A/F Buy/Sell rate concept.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Order Management: Capture and monitor all indents on Cargo Wise.
Client Communication: Provide timely updates on cargo status and address all client queries satisfactorily.
Documentation: Ensure accurate processing and uploading of all relevant documentation.
Rate Management: Obtain rates for estimates, manage the estimated register, and verify overseas agents' freight invoices.
Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to BCS procedures and submit pre-alerts to the RCG Control Tower timely.
Financial Oversight: Resolve all financial queries related to the forwarding function with foreign freight forwarders.
Performance Monitoring: Minimize rent, fines, and demurrage charges.
Handle cross-trade shipments globally with our agents.
Advise on the most suitable and economic transport modes within set time constraints.
Keep the system updated with all communications and documentation.
Maintain good lines of communication with Emotrans offices and network agents.
Monitor trans-shipments and keep clients informed of non-carriage details.
