Position: System Administrator
Location : Washington, DC

Experience and Knowledge Requirements
o 7+ years as an RHCSA or RHCE.
o Expertise in installing and maintaining hardware/software,
applying patches, managing accounts, and resolving interoperability issues.
o Leadership in infrastructure initiatives and technical design.
o Familiarity with both waterfall and agile SDLC methodologies.
o Authoring and maintaining documentation.

Knowledge:
o GovInfo technologies, content, metadata, and architecture.
o Federal legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes and
publications.
o ISO 14721 OAIS and ISO 16363 TDR standards.
o Proficiency in English (written and oral).
o DevOps practices, test-driven development, and test automation.

Job Description/Responsibilities
1. Team Collaboration and Support:
o Collaborate with the Infrastructure Team and cross-functional
teams.
o Provide off-hours, weekend, and holiday support as needed.
o Potentially perform Lead System Administrator duties for
coordination and updates.
2. Linux System Administration:
o Serve as the RHEL expert, implementing and maintaining Linux
servers.
o Administer Red Hat Satellite Server and apply patches/security
updates.
3. Environment Management:
o Maintain various GovInfo environments (Production, QA, etc.).
o Support hardware refresh cycles and install/modify hardware and
software.
4. Security and Access Management:
o Manage accounts, network rights, and ensure security policy
application.
o Implement and update security procedures and tools.
5. Documentation and Procedures:
o Develop and maintain system administration SOPs and
configurations.
o Document infrastructure-supporting services and applications.
6. Technical Expertise and Support:
o Resolve hardware-software issues and ensure system efficiency.
o Configure/administer Apache Web servers and support network
availability.
o Design and implement virtualization and infrastructure solutions.
7. Automation and Monitoring:
o Manage system automation and orchestration with tools like
Ansible.
o Use version control software for code and documentation
repositories.
o Create and maintain custom scripts and applications for system
resource management.
8. Incident Management and Compliance:
o Notify GPO CSIRT of any security incidents.
o Ensure compliance with security scans and resolve identified
issues.
9. Infrastructure Leadership:
o Lead infrastructure initiatives and provide technical expertise.
o Support infrastructure for various components during
installation, upgrade, and failover activities.
