Role:                    Patch Management Lead
Duration:            6 Months
Location :            Boston, MA(Hybrid  3 Days a Week)
       



We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Patch Management Lead to
oversee patch deployment and management specifically in the life sciences,
research, and healthcare sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in managing Microsoft Operating System patches on laboratory systems.

Key Responsibilities:-


Patch Strategy Development:

Design and implement patch management strategies tailored for laboratory
systems in compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Oversee the deployment of Microsoft Operating System patches across
laboratory environments, ensuring minimal disruption to critical research
activities.
Develop and maintain a monthly schedule for patch releases, ensuring
alignment with organizational needs and downtime considerations.
Review patch release notes and advisories from vendors, assessing the
relevance and impact on your organization?s systems.
Prioritize patches based on risk assessment, potential impact on
operations, and compliance requirement
Implementation & Configuration:
Deploy and configure Ivanti Patch Manager solutions to meet organizational
requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design patch
management processes.
Lead the deployment process, ensuring patches are applied according to the
established schedule with minimal disruption to business operations
Stakeholder Management :
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding patch
management initiatives, addressing concerns and gathering feedback.
Create a communication plan to inform stakeholders (e.g., IT teams,
management, end-users) about upcoming patches, including timelines and
potential impacts.
Monitoring & Maintenance:
Monitor patch compliance across various systems and platforms.
Identify vulnerabilities and recommend timely patch deployments to minimize
risks.
Conduct post-deployment reviews to evaluate the success of patch
implementation, identifying any lessons learned or areas for improvement.
Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for patch management issues.
Assist in resolving escalated incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Assist in incident response efforts related to unpatched vulnerabilities
and contribute to post-incident reviews to improve future patching strategies
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of patch management processes,
configurations, and changes.
Generate and analyze reports on patch compliance, vulnerabilities, and
remediation efforts.
People Management
Lead the team of 3-4 engineers participating in monthly patching process.
Effectively allocate resources and tasks among team members to ensure
efficient execution of patch management activities.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team, promoting
innovative ideas and best practices in patch management Qualifications:-

·       Bachelor?s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a
related field.

·       Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT consulting, with a focus on
Ivanti solutions and Patch Manager.

·       Proven experience in implementing and managing patch management
systems in enterprise environments.

·       Strong understanding of patch management processes, software
lifecycle management, and security best practices.

·       Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for
automation and customization of patch deployment.

·       Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and enterprise
software applications.

·       Ivanti certification(s) preferred (e.g., Ivanti Endpoint Manager).

·       Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft
Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.

·       Understanding of industry regulations and standards related to
cybersecurity and data protection (e.g., FDA, HIPAA)
