Full-time Business Development Manager

at Professional Solutions (Anywhere)

Job Description:



The Business Development Manager (BDM) position requires a demonstrated Leader with team building expertise. The ideal candidate is has experience in one of the following markets, Special Operations, Cyber, or Defense of the Homeland. They must be highly motivated and energetic with relationship building and networking skills.



The BDM is responsible for identifying and qualifying business opportunities for organizational growth. The successful candidate will be process-oriented, responsible for clearly and persuasively articulating solutions and themes, and work collaboratively with Capture Management, Proposal Management and Operational SME Teams. The BDM will be responsible for managing the organizations’ pipeline including planning, scheduling, and managing business and competitive intelligence.

The candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in complex and dynamic environments; coordinate activities and build schedules to accommodate geographically dispersed teams; motivate and train business development team members on established processes; manage production activities and schedules, and assist capture and proposal teams in developing win themes, identifying discriminators, and developing storyboards. This position will report to the Senior Business Development Executive.



Roles and Responsibilities:



Works with a Proposal Manager on strategic campaigns to create, manage, support and present proposal plans, schedules, budgets, meeting briefs, and step reviews to promote/maintain established capture/proposal processes;

Responsible for the identification of new business opportunities targets as well as opportunities for expansion growth of current contracts in support of the organizations’ annual growth goals;

Bring in $5M in new business revenue with at least a 7% profit margin;

Must be able to focus on both short term and long term strategic goals;

Must attend frequent networking events: industry days, symposiums, and conferences;

Will schedule and implement strategic call plan with target customers and will document such activities and report pertinent information to the Director of Business Development;

Responsible for development and implementation of quarter plan to achieve revenue expectations;

Presents self to both internal and external customers in a positive and professional manner that reflects the values of the organization;

Oversee all phases of business development from program capture through contract award;

Generate NEW business leads and opportunities;

Develop & maintain positive customer relationships ensuring customer objectives are known;

Excellent understanding of the federal procurement processes and practices;

Involved in development of marketing campaigns to ensure highlight of ProSol capabilities;

Ensure a seamless transition to the capture management team while continuously offering a support role through proposal submission;

Support business and competitive intelligence gathering to perform opportunity assessment;

Support other BDM's capture efforts as needed;

Work with the executive leadership to develop strategic and tactical marketing programs to support broad business offerings, and to evaluate new types of business opportunities;

Develop teaming relationships;

Develop and execute win strategy and tactical marketing plan;

Assist capture and proposal teams to develop winning proposal;

Develop formal call plans for all potential prime opportunities;

Qualify opportunities through Step A reviews;

Assist with response to Request For Information & Sources Sought Notifications;

Start a Capture Plan for potential hand-off to a Capture Manager when the opportunity is pursued;

Remain engaged through Capture process to provide clarity to the capture team and continuity with the potential client;

Develop new client relationships outside of the current customer base to support new growth;

Maintain contact with clients once work you identified is won to help ensure ProSol maintains “Green Relationships” with all clients;

Participate in corporate-wide and individual professional development opportunities throughout the year;

Support the strategic planning of the company to help form an overall and effective strategy for the organization.

Education and Experience Requirements:



Bachelors Degree in a related field is required, Master’s degree preferred;

Formal Business Development Training or demonstrated knowledge is required;

Must have a vast network and minimum 5 years of experience in identifying new business opportunities that resulted in a win and continuously build this network of contacts to secure new business;

Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients;

Must have management experience;

Strong team building skills, known team player, collaborative style;

High energy self starter with a strong reputation for integrity and ethics;

Must have identified pursuits in at least $25M in value;

Proven track record of documented wins as well as the ability to support a compliant proposal is a must;

Ability to formulate tactical and strategic plans to support our customers and business development and customer's objectives.

Clearance: Secret required (ability to acquire); TS preferred
