COBOL Tester (QA) with Natural,

COBOL Tester (QA) with Natural, Wasatch and insurance experience
Location: Tumwater, WA
Duration: 1-2 months

This vendor will verify that the new retro system calculates incurred losses in accordance with the actuary processes provided by L&I. This is approximately 300 lines of COBOL code that is used by a few retro processes. In addition, the vendor will verify that the new retro system calculates retro premiums in accordance with the processes provided by L&I. This is approximately 500 lines of COBOL code that is used by a retro processes. The Retro system resides on an IBM mainframe. The programming languages used for the necessary calculations are COBOL and Software AGs NATURAL. L&I is currently performing a major rewrite to implement legislative and other changes to the calculations.
Skills and experience:
Full understanding of testing processes & procedures and willingness to work within the Purchasers configuration management process.
Development of artifacts used in testing /evaluation of information systems and tool sets used to validate full functionality of the system as well as interoperability with databases and both horizontal and vertical integration with other interfaced systems in accordance with ISO or industry standard best practices.
Artifacts generated and used by vendors should include but are not limited to Standard Software Test Plans (STP), Standard Software Test Descriptions (STD) and Standard Software Test Reports (STR).
Conduct of Load, Functional/ Regression and Conformance testing of information systems built around mainframe
Using testing tools in a mainframe environment (e.g. Wasatch).
Desirable Technical Experience:
Experience in the Insurance Industry, particularly in the areas of incurred loss and premium determination.
