Seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager for a sewer pipeline replacement project in Lusaka, Zambia. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems, ensuring that all materials, processes, and construction work meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong background in civil infrastructure projects, particularly in water, sewer, bulk water pipelines, and structural works. The QA/QC Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and will be instrumental in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and quality in all project phases.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in QA/QC roles within infrastructure projects.
5+ years of experience in water and sewer pipeline construction, bulk water pipelines, or structural works.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management frameworks.
Experience with material testing, audits, and compliance monitoring.
QA/QC Certification (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer).
Proven leadership skills in quality control implementation and team coordination.
Previous experience working on projects in Africa is an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation:
Develop and maintain the Quality Assurance & Quality Control Plan in line with project specifications.
Establish inspection & testing protocols for all materials and construction activities.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, industry best practices, and contractual quality standards.
Monitor workmanship, materials, and installation procedures to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
Material & Construction Testing:
Supervise sampling, testing, and certification of materials used in construction.
Ensure timely execution of site and laboratory tests to confirm compliance with project specifications.
Site Inspections & Audits:
Conduct daily site inspections to verify adherence to QA/QC guidelines and H&S regulations.
Identify non-conformances, propose corrective actions, and follow up on resolutions.
Conformance Management & Reporting:
Lead the Conformance Management Unit to monitor and enforce QA/QC processes.
Compile and submit quality control reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans (CAPs).
Training & Team Coordination:
Train site staff, engineers, and contractors on QA/QC requirements and best practices.
Collaborate with construction teams, suppliers, and consultants to ensure a quality-driven culture.
