Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Shuttering Carpenter to join our team. You will be responsible for building and dismantling formwork (shuttering) to support concrete structures on-site. This role is ideal for a skilled and reliable tradesperson with a background in formwork and concrete shuttering.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and related construction skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This involves working on various projects, including residential and commercial builds, and requires proficiency in using hand and power tools. A commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential.

Responsibilities

Constructing formwork (shuttering) for concrete slabs, beams, columns, and foundations
Reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints
Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and metal shuttering systems
Ensuring all formwork is secure and aligned correctly
Working safely in accordance with site health and safety standards
Dismantling formwork after concrete has set

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter (2+ years preferred)
Ability to read technical drawings and site plans
Valid CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card (Formwork or Carpentry)
NVQ Level 2/3 in Formwork, Carpentry, or equivalent (preferred)
Reliable and punctual with good work ethic
